In cooperation with the residents, the Syrian army units found a large number of human organs preserved with "chloroform" inside a hideout for militants in the village of Al-Ghadfa of Marat al-Numan, south of Idlib.

In the village of Al-Ghadfa, about 10 km east of Marat al-Numan, one of the doctors had transformed a house, used by the militants' organizations during their control over the area as a cache, to a primitive medical laboratory where a large number of transparent packages were found containing human organs including head, eyes, hearts, lungs, livers, Kidneys and other viscera kept in chloroform solution". https://ahtribune.com/world/north-africa-south-west-asia/syria-crisis/4327-preserved-human-organs.html

➽P➜⇢The Libyan National Army Publishes a Video Documenting Transferring Syrian Armed Members to “Misrata” The Libyan national army published a video documenting the transferring process of Syrian armed groups members by Turkey, the process was done using planes belongs to the African Libyan airlines, as the plane landed in "Misrata" city. The Libyan army spokesman "Ahmed al-mesmary" said that "Turkey continues to transfer new batches of Syrian mercenaries to "Misrata" city west of the country, this thing is considered a wild challenge for the international demands to calm the situation and to the cease-fire in the country.

Al-mesmary added that "what Turkey is doing is a violation of the Arabic and international decisions which prevent transferring foreign mercenaries and fighters to Libya", adding that "Turkey is supporting terrorism and crime in Libya and work to achieve its dreams in controlling the Libyan geographic region and its wealth as the world spectates and Turkey expands".

Despite all international efforts to end the Libyan conflict and to achieve the unity and safety of the Libyan lands, but Turkey is still continuing its actions and its blackmailing to obstruct these efforts, as it refused earlier many agreements to cease-fire as it does not match with its per3 interests to steal the country's oil wealth. https://ahtribune.com/world/africa/4316-transferring-syrian-armed-members-to-misrata.html

➜MSC⇢ Tyranny expert explains how Donald Trump has ‘ceded the election’ but is creating a crisis to ‘cling to power’  This week, as the economy revealed that the U.S. GDP cratered, President Donald Trump teased putting a hold on the November election. While it is unclear if the president was attempting to distract from the economy in freefall or his falling poll numbers.

Historian and expert on authoritarian regimes, Professor Timothy Snyder, authored of On Tyranny: Twenty Lessons from the Twentieth Century, describing the key ways to spot authoritarianism.

“Do we have any reason to believe that Mr. Trump would accept the outcome of the election?” asked the Yale professor. “The tweet of July 30th was a very clear statement, but he has literally, dozens of times before said he wouldn’t. There is nothing in his career that indicates he actually likes democracy. In this particular tweet, we have a dangerous mixture, where he’s talking about a problem he created himself, insofar as we do have problems with voting in the U.S. They have to do with things like African-Americans not being enfranchised, they have to do with the things of foreign intervention. And even the problems he mentioned, which is postal voting, which is good and of itself, that might be slowed down because of his own postmaster general. So, he’s talking about problems he caused himself, then claiming they’re an emergency, and using that as a reason to claim power himself. That’s a manufactured emergency and that is, in fact, a prime historical fascist tactic.” https://www.alternet.org/2020/08/tyranny-expert-explains-how-donald-trump-has-ceded-the-election-but-is-creating-a-crisis-to-cling-to-power/

A➜MSC⇢Damascus condemns agreement between Qasad Militia, US company on stealing Syrian oil AhlulBayt News Agency (ABNA): Syria has condemned in the strongest terms the agreement signed between Qasad militia “SDF” and a U.S. oil company to steal the Syrian oil, affirming that it considers it null and void and has no legal effect. In a statement to SANA on Sunday, a Foreign and Expatriates Ministry official source said that the Syrian Arab Republic condemns in the strongest terms the agreement signed between Qasad “SDF” militia and a U.S. oil company to steal the Syrian oil under the sponsorship and support of the U.S. administration. The source affirmed that this agreement is considered as an integrated and aggravated theft and it can be only described as a deal between thieves who are stealing and thieves who are buying, and it constitutes an assault against Syria’s sovereignty, and a continuation of the U.S. hostile approach towards Syria which is represented in stealing the resources of the Syrian people and hindering the efforts exerted by the Syrian state for rebuilding what has been destroyed by terrorism which is mostly backed by the U.S. administration itself. The source added “Syria considers this agreement null and void and has no legal effect and it warns again that such despicable acts express the approach of those client militias which have accepted to be a cheap puppet in the hands of the U.S. occupation.” The source asserted that those hired militias realize that the brutal American occupation will inevitably disappear and that it will be defeated like the terrorist groups which the Syrian state has been able to defeat as the Syrians are able to protect their resources and to preserve the unity of their country’s territories and people. https://en.abna24.com/news//damascus-condemns-agreement-between-qasad-militia-us-company-on-stealing-syrian-oil_1059756.html

➜PHD⇢➤ Regime Change The Media: Notes From The Edge Of The Narrative Matrix America this is serious: if you re-elect Trump, you’ll be trapped in a fascist dystopian oligarchy which will keep robbing you of your rights and wellbeing for the benefit of the powerful and the wealthy. And it gets even worse: these things will also be true if you elect Biden. People often ask me for suggestions on how they can learn to understand the world better. Here is a link to an article full of tips on how to punch through the obfuscations of propaganda and make sense of things, and here is a link to a Twitter list of my favorite news-gatherers and dot-connecters which you can bookmark and scroll through daily. Those should get you started. Mainstream media reporters have a much higher body count than all serial killers and terrorist organizations combined. They do not deserve respect, and their institutions should not exist. You are infinitely more qualified to report the news than all the scumbags in the mass media who are paid by billionaires to parrot government lies. I mean that 100 percent literally. If you’re not being paid by the wealthy to lie to the public, you are more qualified to report the news than those who are. Doesn’t matter if all you have is a smartphone and a Twitter account; you are set up to be a better news reporter than them. https://caitlinjohnstone.com/2020/08/03/regime-change-the-media-notes-from-the-edge-of-the-narrative-matrix/

➽BSC ATOMIC BOMBINGS AT 75: John Pilger — Another Hiroshima is Coming — Unless We Stop It Now

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were acts of premeditated mass murder unleashing a weapon of intrinsic criminality. It was justified by lies that form the bedrock of 21st century U.S. war propaganda, casting a new enemy, and target – China.

By John Pilger
in Sydney, Australia

When I first went to Hiroshima in 1967, the shadow on the steps was still there. It was an almost perfect impression of a human being at ease: legs splayed, back bent, one hand by her side as she sat waiting for a bank to open.

At a quarter past eight on the morning of August 6, 1945, she and her silhouette were burned into the granite.

I stared at the shadow for an hour or more, then I walked down to the river where the survivors still lived in shanties.

I met a man called Yukio, whose chest was etched with the pattern of the shirt he was wearing when the atomic bomb was dropped.  https://consortiumnews.com/2020/08/03/atomic-bombings-at-75-john-pilger-another-hiroshima-is-coming-unless-we-stop-it-now/

➜PHD⇢➤ LEE CAMP:  Why Housing Is a Human Right

America is not based on hard work. Get it out of your head that this society is set up to be fair. Fair would be everyone with a roof over their head.

Congress’s inability to actually represent the real-live human beings of America, combined with an economic system that rewards lack of empathy and an excess of greed, has brought us to a dark time when an oncoming tsunami of financial ruin, destitution and evictions towers over our heads, blocking out the sunlight.

The impending evictions may soon kick 28 million people/families out of their homes. To put that in perspective, only ten million people lost their homes during the 2008 economic crisis, and that was considered by anyone paying attention to be the craziest thing to ever happen.

What we’re facing now could be three times crazier, getting to Charlie Sheen levels. (I almost wrote “Kanye West levels” but everything he does is in hopes of being mentioned in the media, and I’m not falling for it. …Shit. This parenthetical has betrayed me!)

To talk about the impending homelessness tsunami, we have to first get past the fact that our government could totally bail people out and keep them in their homes. Not only have they already bailed out big banks and Wall Street to the tune of $4.25 Trillion, but on top of that the Pentagon has over $21 Trillion of unaccounted-for adjustments on their books over the past 20 years. This is to say – there’s plenty of money.

Money is an idea, a concept, an imaginary metaphysical belief, and it’s high time we faced the fact that the U.S. government has an unlimited imagination. As philosopher Alan Watts once put it: Money is not a thing, it’s a measurement. Saying there’s not enough money to do something is like a builder saying there’s not enough inches to build a house. He has the wood, nails and hammers. He’s just out of inches.

(Ed Yourdon/Flickr)

The U.S. government could easily give every American $2,000 a month for the foreseeable future, which would keep almost everybody in their homes and apartments. In fact, Canada has opted to give $2,000 a month to those who lost work because of the pandemic.

But ignore the fact that there’s enough money. That’s not what we’re here to discuss.

There are also enough empty homes. As of 2018, there were nearly 1.5 million vacant homes in the country. Compare that to the estimated 553,742 people homeless on any given night. So even before the pandemic, there were three empty houses for every homeless person. Three. That’s not even accounting for empty apartments, yachts, sheds, extra bedrooms, garages, condos, cubbyholes, attic spaces, basements, barns, pool houses, and walk-in refrigerators. https://consortiumnews.com/2020/08/03/lee-camp-why-housing-is-a-human-right/

➽PHD ATOMIC BOMBINGS AT 75: Scholars Speak Out Against ‘Unnecessary’ Attacks

August 2, 2020

Japan was ready to surrender, making the atomic bombings of Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945, and Nagasaki two days later, totally unnecessary and morally indefensible, say a panel of scholars in two video discussions.

The bombing of Nagasaki as seen from the town of Koyagi, about 13 km south, taken 15 minutes after the bomb exploded. In the foreground, life seemingly went on unaffected. (Wikipedia)

The debate over the atomic bombings—a controversy that forced the Smithsonian Institution to abandon its Enola Gay exhibit 25 years ago—continues unabated in America today as we approach the 75th anniversary of the incineration of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Four historians, each of whom has written extensively on the topic, discussed the documentary evidence and explored the current state of knowledge about the bombings in two sessions with TV, print, radio, and internet journalists from around the world.

Among other points, they argue that the bombings were unnecessary as Japan was ready to surrender as long as they could keep the emperor (which the U.S. eventually allowed them to do); that U.S. generals, including Dwight Eisenhower and Douglas MacArthur, were opposed to the bombings; and that a real aim of the attacks was to send a message to the Soviet Union and not to avert a U.S. invasion, which was still months away.

The historians taking part are:

Gar Alperovitz, formerly a Fellow of Kings College Cambridge, the Institute of Politics at Harvard, and Lionel Bauman Professor of Political Economy at the University of Maryland, is the author of Atomic Diplomacy: Hiroshima and Potsdam and The Decision to Use the Atomic Bomb. He is currently a Principal of The Democracy Collaborative, an independent research institution in Washington, D.C.

Martin Sherwin, University Professor of History, George Mason University, is author of A World DestroyedHiroshima and Its Legacies winner of the Society of Historians of American Foreign Relation’s Bernath Book Prize, co-author with Kai Bird of American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer winner of the 2006 Pulitzer Prize for biography, and Gambling with Armageddon: Nuclear Roulette from Hiroshima to the Cuban Missile Crisis, forthcoming in September 2020. https://consortiumnews.com/2020/08/02/atomic-bombings-at-75-scholars-speak-out-against-unnecessary-attacks/

➽BSC➜MSC⇢ When the war on terror turns inward

By HENRY REYNOLDS | On 31 July 2020

We now have evidence of a campaign conducted in Australia to attack the credibility and the reputation of individuals and organisations seen as being too close to China.

A knock at the door… illustration – Alex Anstey

In a recent article in The Guardian Hamilton Nolan commented on the current employment on the streets of American cities of the par-military forces established for action on the nation’s borders. He believes that the Department of Homeland Security has become a White House controlled paramilitary and surveillance service. Both the laws passed and the institutions established in the days after the September 11 attacks have now been used within the boundaries of the state. He observed that Americans’ are finding out what happens when the war on terror is turned inward upon ourselves.’

Australians should see this as a warning of what could unfold here particularly as we enter into a period of rising tensions brought about by our plunge into the Trump inspired cold war with China.

As I read the article I was immediately reminded of the raid unleashed three weeks ago on the home and office of the New South Wales MLC Shaoquett Moselmane. Not knowing much about New South Wales State politics I had never heard of Mr. Moselmane. But I found the whole proceedings deeply disturbing. I was also surprised that so few people seemed to share my concerns

To begin with the Federal Police showed no respect for Mr Moselmane who has been in public life for many years as a three term Mayor of Rockdale and as a member of the New South Wales Upper House since 2009. The contrast with the treatment of two Federal Ministers accused in recent times of possible illegal behaviour could not be greater. It was so discrete that they were not even questioned.

But there was much more to it than that. The whole exercise was deliberately histrionic—a dawn raid on the family home by a dozen federal agents. An hour later six further officers arrived. Such raids are calculated to terrorize families and embarrass and humiliate the chosen victim. They are also designed to make sure that all the neighbours are aware of what was happening. Both the scale of the raid and its mode of operation signalled to the public that there was strong reason to believe that the targeted individual has been guilty of heinous crimes against both society and the state. How the victim of such a raid can subsequently receive a fair trial has never been explained.

But even more egregious was the fact that the Federal Police had tipped off the media and made sure the television cameras were rolling when the strike force arrived. This is by now standard practice. How do they get away with it? How it can be justified is hard to discern. This is partly because the cosy relationship with the media has seemingly never been questioned.  https://johnmenadue.com/when-the-war-on-terror-turns-inward/
